Early in 2019, music teacher, creative type & long-time family friend Lorena (“Aunt ‘Rena” to Travis) presented this quirky idea to Travis’s mom Allison. Lorena came up with the kindness rocks as a way to share Travis’s story with the world, his brilliant smile, joyous giggle and charming magnetic personality. She wanted to spread that special brand of happiness that was Travis. Allison initially loved the idea, although some friends were doubtful, wondering if it was just another “out there” idea from the self-proclaimed “hippie chick” Lorena. Travis's late father Jamie would have loved it, as he dreamed of sharing world travels with his son. The “little orange rock project” has taken off, captivating the hearts of those who knew and loved Travis as well as friends, relatives and coworkers of his tribe. Even complete strangers are helping “SpreadTravisLove”. The initial skeptics now find themselves frequently checking Facebook or Instagram to see just where in the world one of “Travis’s traveling stones” will appear next. In just a few months, they’ve already been left in 25 states and almost as many countries throughout the world.
